Teak Furniture Showroom in Yeshwanthpur: What to See and Ask on Your Visit

Planning a visit to our teak furniture showroom in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru? What to bring, what to check in person, and the questions worth asking before you order.

Sage Corner Sofa Set — lifestyle

Photos are a good start, but solid teak furniture is something you need to see, touch and sit on. Grain, finish, cushion comfort and the weight of a well-made chair don’t come through on a screen. This guide explains how to get the most from a visit to the Supreme Woods showroom in Yeshwanthpur North — what to bring, what to look at, and the questions any good furniture maker should be happy to answer.

Where we are and when to come

The showroom is at 28, Chandrashekar Layout, 2nd Stage, Srigandhadakaval, Yeshwanthpur North, Bengaluru 560091, and it’s open every day, 10 am – 7:30 pm. It’s an easy drive from Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Mathikere, Jalahalli, Peenya, Hebbal and the rest of North and West Bengaluru. You’ll find directions and a map on our showroom page.

Weekday afternoons are usually the calmest if you want unhurried time to compare pieces. If you message us on WhatsApp before you come, tell us what you’re looking for — a sofa set, a dining table, or a whole home — and we’ll have the right finishes and fabric samples ready.

What to bring

  • Room measurements. Length and width of the room, and the wall where the sofa or table will go. Mark windows, doors and switchboards.
  • Entry measurements. Lift door width and depth, the main door, and any tight corridor turns. Large carved sofas and long dining tables need to get in before they can impress.
  • Photos of the room. Two or three wide shots help us suggest a scale and finish that suits your flooring, walls and light.
  • Your timeline. If you’re furnishing for a handover or a housewarming, the date matters — our pieces are made to order, typically in 4–6 weeks.

What to check in person

1. The wood and the finish

Run your hand along an armrest and the underside of a table top. A good finish feels even and smooth everywhere, including the hidden edges. Look at how the grain flows across joints and panels, and compare our four hand-rubbed finishes — Natural Teak, Honey, Walnut and Espresso — under the showroom light and near a window. The same teak looks noticeably different in each.

2. Joinery and weight

Lift one end of a chair. Solid teak has real heft. Check that frames don’t rack or wobble when you push them gently from the side; well-joined furniture feels like one piece. Ask how the main frame is joined — traditional mortise-and-tenon or dowelled joints last far longer than frames held together mainly by screws.

3. Seating comfort

Sit on every sofa you’re considering for at least a couple of minutes, the way you’d sit at home. Notice seat depth (can your feet rest flat?), back height, arm height and how the cushion recovers when you stand up. If you have elderly parents at home, have them try the seats too — a slightly firmer, higher seat is often easier to get out of.

4. Fabric, in your light

Take fabric swatches to a window. Navy velvet, aqua, taupe and mocha all shift with daylight. Many of our sofas come in more than one fabric — for example the Oslo Sofa Set in Indigo Blue or Taupe — and you can see both side by side.

Questions worth asking (any furniture maker)

  • Which teak is this piece made from, and where was the timber sourced?
  • How was the wood seasoned, and how long was it dried before it was cut?
  • Can the size be changed to fit my room? Which finishes and fabrics are possible?
  • What’s included in the quote — delivery, placement, cushions, glass or marble tops?
  • How long will it take, and when will you confirm the delivery date?
  • How should I care for it, and what happens if something needs attention later?

Clear, specific answers are a good sign. Vague answers about wood origin or seasoning are worth a second question.

Pieces to look out for

The showroom is the best place to compare our sofa sets — from classic slatted-arm 3+1+1 sets to carved designs like the Versailles Carved Sofa Set and generous corner sofas such as the Sage Corner Sofa Set. In dining, it’s worth seeing the difference between solid teak, glass and marble tops in person — the white marble Carrara and the black-glass Gatsby look very different under real light.

After your visit

Once you’ve chosen a design, size, finish and fabric, we’ll send a clear quote. When you confirm, your piece is made to order in our workshop and delivered and placed in your home. If you’d like to start the conversation before visiting, send us your room size and a photo on WhatsApp — we’ll suggest options you can see when you come in.
